Ed,
You will be happy to know that Glee and Survivor are seriously my 2 favorite tv shows! No joke!
I think the two shows have more in common then most people think, especially when you look at the friendship aspect. Glee, especially season 1, is/was about a diverse group of kids forming friendships over their love of music. One-of-a-kind friendships I might add, such as Kurt/Mercedes, Quinn/Mercedes, Rachel/Quinn, Rachel/Tina, Rachel/Santana, Santana/Mercedes, Finn/Artie, Sam/Blaine, Jake/Ryder, just to name a few. Hopefully we can add a Roderick/Jane friendship to that list soon.
In Survivor, you also have a very diverse group of people with very unique friendships being formed. The friendship aspect of Survivor is extremely overlooked but it's probably my favorite thing about the show. I just love watching genuine friendships arise. Think Richard/Rudy, Tina/Colby, Yau-Man/Earl, JT/Stephen, Denise/Malcolm, Tyson/Gervaise to name a few.
Also, Ed, you might be interested in these links. I stumbled across these Survivor fan videos on YouTube that are set to Glee music:
Tribute to Jefra from Cagayan set to Glee's cover of Girl On Fire: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPPOETNym6M
Tribute to Erik from Samoa set to Glee's version of Bust A Move: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpVz4knD3f0
Just proof that the Glee/Survivor venn diagram is larger than you think. And I agree with you that Natalie was a satisfying winner. I just wish we had gotten to see more of her friendship with Baylor.
